OBJECTIVES:-
The society has two fold objective of creating awareness on environmental issues comprising health, cleanliness and hygienic problems along with spreading education, training cum consultancy among the graduate and undergraduate students particularly those coming from poor families in various colleges and schools
ACTIVITIES:-
The society has made aware different communities ( of both the sexes including bisexuals) of all age groups belonging to separate topographical regions involving a multi prolonged sequence of events and interventions in the field of Education, Health, Social status and Environment.
NGO’s CONTRIBUTION - IN HIMACHAL PRADESH :
To get recognition in the state by completing own target ETE
{ Education,Training & Earnings} for the young generation of Himachal Pradesh
through Philanthropist and Innovative activities
Actively involved in the field of Education,Environment and Health for the last
15 years.
- DOCUMENTARY : Produced documentary video movie on “ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION” withparticular
reference to Himachal Pradesh.During the year 1998,the shows of this video movie
were shown in some of the educational institutes of Himachal Pradesh
highlighting the importance of Environmental Education and Educational
Environment in the Educational Institutes of Himachal Pradesh.
- MAGAZINE : A monthly comprehensive magazine “HIM PARYAVARN GOONJ”on environment issues,
education problems and health strategies including public health and drug
addiction , containing contributions from eminent persons was circulated among
the leading schools & colleges of Himachal Pradesh. Itwas later on recommended
by Department of Higher education,Shimla to all the libraries of Educational
Institutes of Himachal Pradesh at the concessional rates of Rs.13/ only, during
the year 2000.
- DIRECTORIES : Provided free of cost information in the form of Directories of Courses of
Higher Educational Institutes of India to more than 2000 students persuing
undergraduate degree in thirty five degree colleges of the state till 2005
(after that internet services were easily available to most of the
students).Many students were benefited as they were not dependent upon the paid
educational consultants for getting admissions in M.Sc./B.Ed. outside Himaachal
Pradesh.
- BROCHURES/COUNSELLING : Prepared brochure on the details of syllabi and tips on preparation for the
medical and engineering entrance tests. This brochure was distributed free of
cost to as many as three thousand students of 10+2 level. Along with this, the
students were personally advised on the details of preparatory methods . This
monitoring effort made students of the remote and far-flung areas aware about
their careers. This activity was greatly appreciated by media. After giving
information on syllabi for preparation of Medical/ Engineering tests, undertook
the work for the preparations of entrance tests. The said material was given to
eleven meritorious students at regular intervals for complete one year in order
to help them to achieve their cherished goal. These students were from following
schools: G. Sr. Sec. School Solan, St. Lukes School Solan, G. Sr. Sec. School
Mandi, Mahavir Sr. Sec. School Sundernagar, Arunodya Sr. Sec. School Mohal
(Kullu), G. Sr. Sec. School Kullu, Navodya School Kothipura (Bilaspur), Thomson
Sr. Sec. School (Ghumarwin), D.A.V. Sr. Sec. School Shimla, Green Field Sr. Sec.
School Nagrota and D.P.S. Jhakhri. This effort became truly successful as two
of such students succeeded in getting admission in medical colleges at Shimla
and Chandigarh.
- EDUCATION KIT FOR U.G.C./C.S.I.R.NET CANDIDATES : DR.O.P.SINGH PRESIDENT,AUTHOR of A HELP BOOK FOR U.G.C. ENTERANCE EXAMS
(BOTANY/ZOOLOGY/BIOTECHNOLOGY). Fifty such books were distributed free of cost
to the outgoing studentd of B.Sc. Biotechnology at Govt. Degree college Mandi at
the annual function through the Chief Guest.
- COMPETITION KITS : Competion Kits were donated free of cost to the representatives of 10 vidhan
sabha constituencies of Himachal Pradesh so that they had distributed these to
the desrving students belonging to the BPL family students during the annual
functions of the schools during 2006-2007.The kit contains four booklets of
English,Hindi,Reasoning And G.K. helpful for qualifying competitive Tests
starting from +2 level till graduation.Six ministers of the state appreciated
this effort.
- TEST SERIES : DR.O.P.SINGH PRESIDENT proposed the concept of Test Series and Crash Courses
for Medical/Engg Entrances through the Directorate of higher education,Shimla.On
Going Hon’able Minister of Education supported it and thus helped 13,000
students by assisting department of higher education ,Shimla.A successful
monthly Test Series with uniform distribution of syllabus is going on through
out the state, since 2009.For qualitative competitive enhancement workshops of
Govt.Sr.Sec.School Science Lecturers of the state were conducted during the year
2009.
- CRASH COURSE FOR AIEEE/AIPMT : Collaborated with BBNIA-Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industries Association through
Directorate of Higher Education and Provided Free 40 Days Crash Course for
ENGG/MEDICAL Entrance Exam to 30 Govt school sponsered meritorous students
belonging to BPL Family .Free boarding and lodging facilities were also provided
during March,2010.
- JOB INTEGRATED COURSES : JOB INTEGRATED COURSES “ BIOMEDICAL/HOSPITAL WASTE MANAGEMENT” AND “PROTECTION
OF FORESTS FROM DISEASES AND FIRE” FOR THE UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS OF HIMACHAL PRADESH
IN COLLABORATION WITH PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH IS UNDER CONSIDERATION.
- SKILLED TRAINING PROGRAMMES AT SANDHOLE : TRAINED TWENTY FIVE YOUTHS FOR PERSONALITY DEVELOPMET AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
DURING SEPTEMBER. ALL THESE STUDENTS GOT JOBS IN MNC BOSCH W.E.F 1ST
OCTOBER.2010.INTERVIEW AND TEST WAS CONDUCTED AT THE DOOR STEPS AT SANDHOLE ON
THE EVE OF SAIR FUNCTION ON 16TH SEP.2010.
- EXTENSION CENTRE AT SANDHOLE : Govt. Polytechnic College Sunder Nagar , Distt. Mandi has approved Extension
Centre at branch office Sandhole under MHRD scheme for providing free training
in Computer, Screen Printing and Electricians to 60 poor girl students in
collaboration with NHEPES. NHEPES contribution includes
Computers,printers,internet,fax facilities in addition to the cost of rents and
manpower.
